Sandra Oh will seem within the Off-Broadway premiere of The Welkin, written by Lucy Kirkwood at Atlantic Theater Firm this spring.
Oh, identified for her starring roles in Gray’s Anatomy and Killing Eve, amongst many others, has beforehand appeared on the New York stage in Off-Broadway productions together with Satellites, Cease Kiss and Wild Goose Goals. She may also seem in HBO/A24’s restricted sequence adaptation of The Sympathizer, airing in April.
She is joined by a forged that additionally contains Dale Soules (Orange Is The New Black), Danny Wolohan (To Kill a Mockingbird), b (American (Tele)visions), Tilly Botsford (Off-Broadway debut), Paige Gilbert (Pores and skin of Our Enamel), Ann Harada (Avenue Q), Jenn Kidwell (Underground Railroad Recreation), Mary McCann (Harper Regan), Emily Cass McDonnell (I’m Revolting), MacKenzie Mercer (Frozen nationwide tour) and Haley Wong (Mary Will get Hers at MCC).
Directed by Sarah Benson, an Obie Award winner for her path of Fairview, the play is scheduled to start performances on the Linda Gross Theater on Might 16, and to open June 12, for a restricted engagement via June 30.
The play, written by Kirkwood, who was a Tony nominee for her play The Kids, is ready in rural England in 1759, whereby a younger lady escapes her demise sentence by claiming she is pregnant. Twelve ladies then collect to resolve whether or not that is true, in a manufacturing described as “a darkish, fierce, humorous play about democracy and house responsibilities.”
