New Line Cinema has released the first trailer and poster for the next entry in “The Conjuring” cinematic universe – the sequel to 2018’s “The Nun”.
Michael Chaves is directing the project, and filmmaker James Wan is producing this follow-up to the original “The Nun” which made an impressive $366 million worldwide back in 2018. Akela Cooper and Richard Naing worked on the sequel’s script.
In 1956 France, a priest is murdered and evil is spreading. Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) once again comes face-to-face with Valak (Bonnie Aarons), the demon nun.
Jonas Bloquet, Storm Reid and Anna Popplewell also star.
“The Conjuring” Universe is the highest-grossing horror franchise in history with over $2 billion in box-office worldwide, four titles earning more than $300 million worldwide each, and seven earning more than $200 million each.
Michael Chaves helms from a script by Akela Cooper, Goldberg and Richard Naing. “The Nun II” will hit North America on September 8th and will roll out internationally beginning September 6th.
