Falling Forward Films and Productivity Media have premiered the first trailer for the Nicolas Cage-led action comedy “The Retirement Plan”.
When Ashley (Ashley Greene) and her young daughter Sarah (Thalia Campbell) get caught up in a criminal enterprise that puts their lives at risk, she turns to the only person who can help – her estranged and retired beach bum father Matt (Nicolas Cage).
Their reunion is fleeting as they are soon tracked down by crime boss Donnie (Jackie Earle Haley) and his lieutenant (Ron Perlman). The bad guys get more than they bargained for because Matt is not the wacky character he appears to be.
Cue a trailer that essentially looks like Cage’s take on “Nobody” as it turns out this retiree was likely a former assassin who has no problem dispatching bad guys left and right.
Thalia Campbell, Grace Byers, Joel David Moore, and Ernie Hudson co-star in the film which hails from writer/director Tim Brown.
Doug Murray, Nicholas Tabarrok, and William Santor will produce. “The Retirement Plan” is scheduled for release in theaters on August 25th.
